Begin Again
01:45
|
|||
Making my way out to the sea
So I can get lost
Not in your eyes
Making my way out through the dark
Walking for miles
Gonna get lost
How do I begin again?
How do I begin again?
How do I begin?
How do I begin?

Mosquitoes
03:23
|
|||
Standing on a hill
Way above it all
It's so dark
The further you go
Standing on a hill
Grass itching my bones
I am small
and so tall
(oooh ooh)
The houses are like blocks
Ladybugs are little cars
Roads unwind
like rivers bend
Let mosquitoes linger on
Let mosquitoes linger on
Let mosquitoes linger on
my skin
Standing on a hill
Way above it all
Breathe the air
From someone's lung
Kingdoms fall
These pines have burned
These mountains walk
On melting rock
It's so easy to forget
It's so easy to forget
Let mosquitos linger
on my skin
Even kingdoms fall and rise
All we love will meet demise
Let mosquitoes linger on my skin
Let mosquitoes linger on my skin

Too Close
03:33
|
|||
We're just spinning round and round
Both eyes on the ground
Lips don't make a sound
Trading breaths and figure when
We get older
Time will begin
Maybe we are just too close
To the answer
Maybe you are just
a ghost of a letter
Sinking into sleepless beds
With countless thoughts inside our heads
As the stars above
Become brilliant
So we have to wait our turn
To burn, burn, burn
Or learn to forget
I can't be the only one
Without an answer
(Maybe I am just a ghost)
of a whisper
Maybe we are just too close
To the answers
Maybe you are just a ghost
of a dreamer

First Train Out
02:44
|
|||
Please
Forget me
I'm an hourglass running dry
If you follow me
I am only gonna dim your light
For you I'm just a lighthouse
In a sea of stars
When you're lost
And I will always be waiting by the station
To catch the first train out
Of sight, run
As fast as your feet can take you
Give your love
To a girl who would never think to break you
I'll bite my tongue
You'll whisper to her sweet 'I love you's
Take your time
Don't wait for me
Please
Forgive me
I'm a yellow fog overseas
What's it good for?
Just a sinister set of keys?
The words all emptied out into the streets
All our fears, all our lies
And I will always be waiting by the station
To catch the first train out
Of sight, run
As fast as your feet can take you
Give your love
To a girl who would never think to break you
I'll bite my tongue
You'll whisper to her sweet 'I love you's
Take your time
Don't wait for me

Skipping Stone
02:07
|
|||
I've been sleeping for a thousand years
The captain of a vessel I can't steer
They say I need to follow the constellations
But I don't even know my destination
Carve your future on a skipping stone
Watch it sink down to the depths alone
Carve your name into a fallen tree
Maybe someday you'll come back to me
I've been dreaming of a thousand lives
Each of which has not been realized
They say follow your compass to the North
Well, what if my heart just switched poles?
Carve your future on a skipping stone
Watch it sink down to the depths alone
Carve your name into a fallen tree
Maybe someday you'll come back to me

Flowerbed
04:31
|
|||
His skin was white
Translucent as light
I trace it all back in his veins
And I watch him sleep
As he dreams next to me
And he twists and he turns in the night
He twists and he turns
In the night when I wake
He twists and he turns
In the night I escape
He gave me his word
I gave him my hand
And I fell blindly
into his bed
I left the ring
And I took the road by the throat
and called it my own
Where was the sun when he shined?
Who is this lover of mine?
Did I know him so well?
I'm under his spell
I lay my will
Right at my feet
I wear my crown
Gold with defeat
You call me your flowerbed
Because I'm where you rest your head
Before you go off to sleep
For you there's no consequence
For me, only repentance
For the sins that I keep
Tell me story I don't already know
Tell me a story I don't already know.

Quiet sun you go down so slight and faint.
Strong glare, so sweet, my window paint
warms your sturdy palm’s touch, but cannot taint
the Outside cold. The days are old,
And memories sweep dusty corners
Forgotten answers untold adorn hers,
All spoken words: just was and were
Sun, we are past tense.
Understand
as callused fingers pluck tender strings
The soft notes ring
into the bitter air where tensions break as we cling –
That to describe this feeling is as hard as tack.
Emotions linger, only hinder
Motions forward, moving toward
A life full, but it lacks
you.
Which is fine,
Which is good. You could have never been my should.
My should have stayed, my should have kept,
I would have filled tear jars and wept.
We were not to last,
My Sun and I,
Though dancing orange lights still cast
Shadows, yours and my
Own years
On pavement
We fell hard my dear.
So that was that,
and now we’re done.
Perhaps you’ve won,
You slipped by first,
I missed you worse.
You sunk far away from me;
And from darkness I wasn’t apt to flee.
It happened fast,
So fast I didn’t see it last.
And rarely now you take my thoughts,
And ever rarer my mind clots
With images and longing-ness,
And disbelief of our last kiss.
